『Views』（2016年）に収録された「Redemption」は、Drakeの代名詞とも言える「Sad Boy」的ペルソナが、成功の代償としての孤独と過去の恋愛への未練という形で結実した、深く内省的なR&Bトラックだ。盟友Noah "40" Shebibによる、Ray Jの「One Wish」をサンプリングしたスロウで冷たいビートの上で、彼は「救済（Redemption）」を求めて彷徨う。キャリアの絶頂（Mob Boss）にありながらも、過去に関係を持った女性たち（Sydney、Syn、Erika）の具体的な名前を挙げ、彼女たちが自分をどう思っているのか、自分を許してくれているのかを痛切に問いかける。自立した女性を求めながらも自分に依存してほしいという矛盾、そして、近づいてくる人間が自分の秘密を売って利益を得ようとするのではないかというパラノイア。圧倒的な富と名声を手にしても、決して満たされることのない愛と後悔の念が、5分以上にわたって赤裸々に綴られている。
