本作「Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix)」は、The Weekndのデビュー・スタジオアルバム『Kiss Land』（2013年）のデラックス版に収録されたオフィシャル・リミックスである。オリジナル版が持つ80年代風のシンセポップやディスコの要素をさらに増幅させるべく、ヒップホップ／R&B界の巨匠プロデューサーであるPharrell Williams（ファレル・ウィリアムス）がリミックスを手掛けている。オランダのディスコバンドFox the Foxの「Precious Little Diamond」のサンプリングを活かしつつ、ファレル特有の跳ねるようなファンキーなグルーヴと、彼自身のボーカル・アドリブが随所に散りばめられ、よりフロアライクで多幸感のあるダンスチューンへと昇華されている。「愛の放浪」という退廃的でシニカルな原曲のテーマと、ファレル印の明るくキャッチーなサウンドのコントラストが、The Weekndのダークな世界観に新たな光を当て、後の「Can't Feel My Face」などへと続く世界的ポップスターへの道筋を示した一曲としてファンから支持されている。
