概要

Nasの2ndアルバム『It Was Written』（1996年）に収録された、ストリートの「銃撃戦（Shootouts）」をテーマにしたシネマティックなストーリーテリング・トラックである。Trackmastersがプロデュースを手掛け、The Main Ingredientの哀愁漂うソウル曲「I Just Love You」をサンプリングしたビートに乗せ、Nasはストリートの凄惨な日常を映画のように描写する。Verse 1では、警察に情報を売る女性と悪徳警官に対する冷酷な処刑劇が、Verse 2では刑務所へ行く友人のためのブロックパーティーで起きた賭博トラブルからの銃撃戦が語られる。フックでストリートを「無法地帯の西部劇（Wild West）」に例えているように、マフィオソ・ラップの真髄とも言えるハードコアなリアリズムが貫かれた一曲である。
